Many women have heard of mammograms before. Some are all too familiar with this preventative medical procedure, as they have undergone a handful throughout the years. However, they may not be aware of another type of breast cancer screening technique that hasn’t gained as much attention or popularity as the mammogram—until recently. It doesn’t expose patients to radiation, either.

What is this alternative to mammogram? Computer regulation thermography.

Rather than administering x-rays, which exposes patients to small doses of radiation, a thermography utilizes temperature to scan for breast cancer, as well as other conditions. In fact, both men and women can undergo thermography to be proactive with their health.

During a typical appointment, a patient’s skin temperature is evaluated and interpreted as electronic data signals via a computer screen. This information can help the practitioner assess the health and functionality of certain body organs and systems.

In addition to screening for breast cancer, computer regulation thermography can also help detect:

  • Dental stress

  • Toxic metals in the body

  • Prostate abnormalities

  • Intestinal issues

  • Neurological system dysfunctions

  • Immune system anomalies

  • Other diseases and disorders

There are several ways to prepare for your appointment.

When scheduling an appointment for computer regulation thermography, you will likely receive guidance on how to best prepare.

For example, on the morning of the exam, you'll likely be restricted from exercising (i.e., running, yoga, etc.), showering, and using body lotions, creams and sprays. On the other hand, it’s strongly recommend you drink 12 to 16 ounces of water about an hour beforehand, and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. If you have any additional questions prior to your appointment, feel free to ask your health care provider.
