As a board-certified Doctor of Dental Surgery with a biological approach to dentistry, Dr. Dianna Cortese aims to take the least toxic, most natural approach to oral health whenever possible. She understands the importance of the oral-systemic link, the relationship between the mouth and systemic diseases. Some examples of medical conditions that have been linked to oral health include some cancers, diabetes, autoimmune disease, heart disease, and many more. Dr. Cortese helps both adults and children optimize their oral wellness.

Dr. Cortese graduated from NYU College of Dentistry with Honors in Oral Medicine and Pathology and was the recipient of the American Academy of Oral Medicine Award. Oral Medicine is defined as the discipline of dentistry focused on the oral health management of medically-complex patients, which includes the diagnosis and management of medical conditions that affect the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. She completed her general practice residency program at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr. Cortese worked in a major cancer hospital in the Dental Oncology Department. She worked exclusively with cancer patients to address their dental needs with a focus on analyzing cancer research.

Dr. Dianna was awarded “Top Dentist” for Women in Medicine and has certifications and training in airway dentistry/sleep dentistry. She is a children’s book author, has published a research article in Wise Traditions Journal and is currently working towards publishing more of her research in medical journals.
